On December 5, organized by the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, a regional conference on "Ideological security at the religious level: challenges and perspectives" is being held in Khachmaz.
Before the event, the participants of the conference visited the monument of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the center of the city and laid flowers in front of it.
The conference started with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Later, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with a minute's silence.
Elnur Rzayev, the head of Khachmaz Region Executive Power, opened the conference with an introductory speech and drew attention to the rapid development path of Azerbaijan. He said that thanks to the political will and determination of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the strength of our brave army, as well as the unity of our people, as a result of the historic victory we won, life is reviving in our lands that were once occupied and devastated by the enemy, and our internally displaced persons are returning to their homes. Emphasizing the importance of the results obtained at the COP29 conference hosted by Azerbaijan, E. Rzayev noted that the prestigious event made another contribution to the increasing prestige of our country.
In his speech, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, spoke about the advantages of the ideological security model, which was authored by National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan and strengthened as a result of the consistent policy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The Chairman of the Committee emphasized that presenting the unifying, peace and equality philosophy of religions in a different image has led to the distortion of their role in the society. He noted that the main task of theologians, religious figures, as well as relevant state institutions should be to present religion as a unifying factor, not a dividing one. The main idea of the regional conferences organized by the State Committee in different regions of Azerbaijan is to convey this truth to the public.
Fazil Mustafa, Chairman of the Committee of Public Unions and Religious Institutions of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, spoke about the importance of the conferences held by the State Committee in the regions and said that educational events also have a special role in terms of discussing the real state of state-religion relations in Azerbaijan. Stating that the attitude of the state to religion in our country is based on the principles of loyalty, the deputy drew attention to the fact that citizens' freedom of religion is ensured by the Constitution and various laws. He emphasized that in different parts of the world there are attempts to politicize religion without using it according to its true purpose, and even though there are problems of not adapting religious tenets to the needs of the times, As a result of the goal-oriented policy implemented by Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of our republic, the traditions of tolerance, multiculturalism, and unity have become our way of life.
It should be noted that the regional conference continues its work with panel sessions on "Religious situation in the Northern region: current situation and future tasks" and "Traditional Islam: historical experience and modern realities".
