On December 10, the regional conference on "Traditionality and Modernity in the Globalized World" started its work in the city of Mingachevir organized by the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations.
The leadership of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations   and the Mingachevir City Executive Authority, the deputies of the Milli Majlis, the Central Aran region covered the conference where topics related to the model of state-religion relations of Azerbaijan, the protection and promotion of national and moral values in the globalized world, and the role of religious figures in this process were discussed. representatives of the executive structures of the regions, the Administration of Caucasian Muslims, are participating.
The participants of the conference first visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Mingachevir city, laid flowers in front of it and expressed their respect to his dear memory.
The conference started with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Later, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with a minute's silence. Within the framework of the event, "You are always with us!" the film was shown.
Ilham Ismayilov, the head of the Mingachevir City Executive Power, gave an opening speech and spoke about the unparalleled services of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the direction of the formation of Azerbaijan's unique model of state-religious relations and preservation of national and moral values. He said that as a result of the attention shown by the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continued the policy of the National Leader, to the development of tolerance traditions and multicultural values, a cultural and spiritual environment was created for every citizen in the city of Mingachevir, regardless of language, religion, and ethnicity. Talking about the relations between ethnic and religious communities based on mutual respect, I. Ismayilov emphasized that the stability observed in our country against the background of the world conflicts shows that Azerbaijan is the cradle of tolerant and multicultural traditions.
Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Ramin Mammadov, in his speech noted the positive impact of the series of regional conferences held in terms of discussion of important issues and useful experience. He said that loyalty to national and moral values and traditions is one of the main factors that make the Azerbaijani state strong. The chairman of the committee emphasized that our independent state, based on the ideas of the Great Leader, under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, established a system of public relations that promotes universal values such as multiculturalism and tolerance. One of the main factors that differentiates the Azerbaijani people from others is that it has managed to turn striving for modernity into a tradition.
Ramin Mammadov, who touched on the negative manifestations of using the religious factor in some cases to purposely divide the society and create contradictions in the national consciousness, Ramin Mammadov emphasized that one of the main goals in the modern era should be to change such misinterpretation of religion. The Chairman of the State Committee noted that the faith of every nation is an important element of its national and moral values.
