On June 27, the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCARA) initiated the next interview phase for filling vacant positions in Islamic places of worship (mosques).
The interview process, scheduled to conclude on July 1, involves the selection of 59 candidates who applied for the single vacant position of female religious ritual performer. The selection will be conducted by the SCARA Interview Commission, comprising theological specialists, at the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology. The results of the interviews will be announced the same day on the Committee’s official website (scara.gov.az).
The successful candidate will be appointed to the position of female religious ritual performer at an Islamic place of worship or shrine by the order of the Committee Chairman, within 30 working days after the conclusion of the interview, in accordance with the established rules.
In the subsequent interview phase, scheduled from July 2 to 6, 126 candidates will be considered for six vacant positions (imam and deputy imam).
Applications for these vacancies were accepted from December 13 and January 13.
