On October 21, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, got acquainted with the activities of the "Sheikh Zahid" shrine of Shikhakaran village in Lankaran region.
The Chairman of the Committee spoke about the importance of measures implemented by the state in the direction of preserving and promoting traditions of tolerance and national-moral values. He said that these measures, in addition to increasing the efficiency of religious education, also play an important role in solving a number of problems in the field of religion. The policy implemented by the state in the field of ensuring religious freedom is giving its positive results.
At the same time, Ramin Mammadov emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination with religious institutions in order to establish more efficient work towards the regulation of state-religion relations. He noted that clergymen should actively participate in religious-ideological awareness measures against forces trying to create division in society on the basis of sectarianism.
Later, the religious figures who voiced their opinions and suggestions said that they are always ready to contribute to the process of protection and development of traditional Islam, historically formed religious and spiritual values in Azerbaijan.
