On October 20, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, visited the Haji Teymur and Juma mosques in Pensar village of Astara region.
During the conversation, Chairman of the State Committee talked about the support given by the state to the high level of freedom of religion, the preservation of religious places of worship, as well as the development of religious communities.
Ramin Mammadov said that the main purpose of his regular visits to houses of worship is to get to know the activities of mosques, churches and synagogues more closely, to determine the existing potential and opportunities, as well as to inform religious leaders about priorities and upcoming tasks in the religious field.
Later, the opinions and suggestions of the clergy were heard. The participants of the meeting emphasized that they highly appreciated the measures implemented by the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev in the field of strengthening the social protection of religious figures and creating better conditions for the activity of religious communities.
