The regional conference in Khachmaz has ended
The regional conference held in Khachmaz on the topic "Ideological security at the religious level: challenges and perspectives" continued with panel sessions.
In the 1st panel moderated by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Gunduz Ismayilov, the topic "Religious situation in the Northern region: current situation and future tasks" was discussed.
Ramin Khudayev, head of the Department of Regional Affairs of the State Committee, gave information about the religious situation in the northern region and drew attention to a number of issues.
Jeyhun Musayev, deputy head of the social-political and humanitarian affairs department of the Office of the Head of the Executive Power of Khachmaz District - organizer of the work with Religious Institutions, spoke about the negative manifestations of the politicization of religion, including the steps that must be taken in the direction of ensuring religious-ideological security.
Mehman Ismayilov, the director of Baku Theological College, touched upon the importance of the traditional gnostic school, as well as the promotion of religious traditions unique to the region among religious figures at the national level, in the fight against religious radicalism.
Yashar Rzayev, gazi of the Khachmaz region of the Caucasian Muslims Department, emphasized the importance of education on social network platforms, where ideological security is threatened at the religious level.
The panel session "Traditional Islam: historical experience and modern realities" of the regional conference was moderated by Agil Shirinov, rector of the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT).
Ahmet Nizayov, teacher of AIT, PhD in theology, associate professor, shared his views on the place of traditions in the Islamic religion and the public and social resources of traditional Islam in Azerbaijan.
Jeyhun Aliyev, the deputy executive director of the Fund for Propagation of Moral Values, voiced his opinion about the destructive trends aimed at the emergence of the clash of national identity and religious identity, the weakening of national consciousness, patriotism, traditions and traditional values.
Elvusal Mammadov, a teacher of the AIT, a doctor of philosophy, and an associate professor, touched on the role of tolerance and dialogue in relation to different opinions and sects.
Vugar Samadov, teacher of AIT, doctor of philosophy, imam of "Ilahiyyat" mosque, gave a speech on "Traditional religiosity and modern challenges".
The event was concluded after the exchange of ideas and suggestions regarding the main goals of the regional conference.
