President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director-General of the ICESCO, in Shusha.

During the meeting, they emphasized the significance of 7th “Kharibulbul” International Music Festival in Shusha. The sides reflected on their previous meetings and discussed ongoing developments.

The ICESCO Director-General highlighted substantial progress during his current visit to Shusha, emphasizing the importance of building new mosques to replace those completely destroyed by Armenians during the occupation, in order to preserve Islamic religious values.

Both parties commended the major restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories. They also praised the successful cooperation between ICESCO and Azerbaijan and expressed confidence in further expanding bilateral relations and exploring future collaboration opportunities.

The ICESCO Director-General presented a keepsake to President Ilham Aliyev.
