A regional conference on "Religious radicalism: as a threat to national-religious solidarity" is being held in Masalli
As a continuation of the educational events organized by the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations in the regions, a regional conference on "Religious radicalism: as a threat to national-religious solidarity" is being held in Masalli on December 14.
The participants of the event first visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Masalli, laid flowers in front of it and paid their respects to his dear memory.
The conference started with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Later, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with a minute's silence. Within the framework of the event, "You are always with us!" film was shown.
The head of Masalli Region Executive Power, Araz Ahmadov, spoke about the attitude shown to the religious sphere in Azerbaijan after the return of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to power, the attention and care of the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to national and moral values in our country, and the exemplary environment of tolerance. Araz Ahmadov, who voiced his remarks about the religious situation in Masalli, noted the importance of the religious and legal education work carried out in the region.
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations Gunduz Ismayilov said in his speech that regardless of language, religion, race, ethnicity, all citizens of Azerbaijan have rights and freedoms based on international principles, including freedom of conscience and religious belief. Complex measures are being implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the direction of the development of the model of state-religion relations founded by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the protection of our national and moral values. It is no coincidence that one of the first issues to be paid attention to in our liberated territories was the repair of religious monuments as a symbol of our spiritual return to Karabakh and Zangezur. The role of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the restoration of these cultural and religious monuments should be emphasized.
The deputy chairman noted that Azerbaijan is one of the exemplary countries for its multicultural and tolerant values. G. Ismayilov said that in the southern region, in Astara, there are mosques where Sunnis and Shiites have been worshiping together for hundreds of years, and the unity prayers performed in the "Heydar" mosque reflect the reality of Azerbaijan. The vice-chairman drew attention to the importance of the work carried out in the preservation of these riches of our country.
The regional conference continues its work with panels on "Religious external influences and the fight against them" and "The responsibility and role of religious figures in the promotion of national and moral values".
